Members of the DAO claim to be made of a dedicated group of Azuki enthusiasts. It's the latest wrinkle following the launch of the controversial "Elementals" collection. A new decentralized autonomous organization purportedly made up of a “dedicated group of Azuki enthusiasts,” has launched a proposal to claw back 20,000 Ether (ETH) from Zagabond, the founder of the blue-chip non-fungible token (NFT) brand Azuki.  The proposal, initiated on July 2, outlines hiring a lawyer to take legal action against Zagabond, real name Alex Xu, for allegedly “rugging” multiple projects. The clawback seeks $39 million worth of ETH earned from the launch of Azuki’s controversial “Elementals” collection. It proposes to allocate any funds retrieved back to the DAO to “promote the growth of the entire Azuki community.” The AzukiDAO proposal seeks to claw back $39 million from Zagabond. Bitcoin defense lawyer says Craig Wright lawsuit could harm open source software

The Bitcoin Defense Legal Fund’s chief legal officer spoke out against an “extraordinarily dangerous” lawsuit initiated by Craig Wright, a person who claims to be Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. Jessica Jonas, chief legal officer of the nonprofit Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund, discussed the potential legal ramifications of a high profile lawsuit against Bitcoin core developers during the Bitcoin 2023 event in Miami on May 18. The case in question is a UK legal action filed by Craig Wright, the owner/operator of Tulip Trading. Wright’s perhaps most well-known for his assertion that he is Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto — a claim driving another unrelated lawsuit . I would just want to say a quick reminder for BTC Core and Roger Inc. You are under litigation hold. Those telegram groups, the signal groups, the others that you think I don't know about are all discoverable evidence and spoliation is a criminal offence. pic.twitter.com/vtjFmeGrRd — Dr Craig S Wright (@Dr_CSWright) Fe...

Polygon accrues 200 million addresses despite challenging 2022 Even though an air of financial uncertainty has shrouded the crypto market since the end of 2021, Polygon — a layer-2 scaling solution running alongside the Ethereum blockchain, allowing for speedy transactions and low fees — continued to witness a lot of growth in 2022. To this point, the network’s unique address count recently surpassed the 200 million mark, reaching a new all-time hi...

Is Ripple poised to settle with SEC this week? Crypto Twitter weighs in

U.S. congressional candidate January Walker said a potential settlement would be a loss for the "whole world" and Web3. Rumors continue to swirl suggesting the two-year legal battle between Ripple Labs and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may be coming to an end as early as this week, prompting the crypto community to weigh in on the matter.  Speculation about the potential settlement appears to have come from a Dec. 10 ask-me-anything (AMA) with Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, who said he had heard rumors that the case would be settled on Dec. 15. In the days since, there's been plenty of commentary from the community —  giving their two cents on what a settlement would mean for Ripple and the wider crypto industry. In a Dec. 12 Twitter post, pro-crypto United States congressional candidate January Walker opined that an unfavorable settlement from Ripple would be a “loss for the whole world & WEB3,” adding: “The world follows the actions...
